This is the first in of a series of data dumps for a number of forthcoming eps built from fits and starts of learning the beasts that are Ableton, Push, and using electronic drums with an SPDSX instead of acoustic. There are several years worth of stop and go moments of creativity that I am finally getting around to publishing instead of letting it collect dust on my hard drive.
This particular ep is from ideas I recorded around a block of “free time” I had around September of 2022.
Some of these tracks speak to me, some I don’t like, but perhaps they speak to someone else. I can’t say this is where I want to be or go, but this is a start to sharing some of my noise art. Some of this was quick and dirty utilitarian recordings for the sake of the software learning processes. In that regard it’s unique because some of these are examples of rough drafts ultimately. The track names are telling to some degree, mostly mundane indicators for me to remember what the file is, or the events that occurred around the time of recording. Some I might revisit again later. Until then, I hope you enjoy these bits and bytes that may have never seen the light of day had I kept waiting to get to a point of creating a coherent full length album.
Expect some remixes of this material, especially audio levels as many of these tracks were not mastered. Listening is best served by engaging with the volume and sub knob and/or an EQ to suit your taste if you have one.
