Several folders deeper than EP1, some of this was done between 2023-24. It’s still frigid outside, a proper NY winter, or so it seems, and a means to get closer to the end of this succession of EPs with 8 more tracks like the first three EPs. Some of these tracks were created during an Ableton learning course called PLYGRND, thus the album’s title. The last time I was grounded to find grounding I wasn’t into playgrounds, or the playground changed, the Regan years maybe? Who doesn’t t like a good swing set though?
I hope you enjoy these tracks as I pick my way forward. I didn’t imagine I would be 70+ sketches in or up to 8 EPs from just a few years of on and off recordings of organized and unorganized noise…meant to disorient at times. It felt right to go back to 8 tracks, not 11 like the previous 4, especially for the 8th EP. Admittedly my standards have been that there are no standards, just throw what you started for some unknown reason into the universe, onto the wall, some of it will stick. It has been an easy means for me to listen to the material to think about what I might do and how I might approach remixes or a coherent album from the spaghetti haystack.
Expect some remixes of this material, especially audio levels as many of these tracks were not mastered. Listening is best served by engaging with the volume and sub knob and/or an EQ to suit your taste if you have one.
